Septa Employee Schedules (1987-04-05)

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Here are some unique train schedules from the past.

SEPTA issued one and only one set of actual employee schedules.  This set was issued when the center city commuter tunnel was first opened.  Unfortunately, some services, such as West Chester and Ivy Ridge via Cynwyd had already ceased.  It should be noted, however, that there was a lot more Cynwyd service than there is today.  Also, notice how the Trenton service reflects some of the service that still exists today.

Septa at one time had rail service to Allentown, PA.  Rail Service was cut back to Bethlehem in 1979.  Here is a schedule showing all service to operate north of Lansdale to Quakertown, Bethlehem, and Allentown.

Prior to the opening of the Center City Commuter Tunnel, SEPTA did operate diesel passenger service on a few routes, one of them being the line from Lansdale through Quakertown and up to Bethlehem.
